I promised you the most beautiful lovely wonderful Lunga wedding...

I don't really have the words to describe the loveliness of Christine and Scott's wedding. Every single detail was crafted by Christine, mums Bairbre and Heather and sisters and bridesmaids and friends who travelled from all corners of the globe to not only be part of the day, but to make the day.

I think the pictures tell the story far better than I ever could. Go make a cup of tea. Slice up some cake. Enjoy!

Christine planted teacups and the Lunga's family silver was brought to ife

Happy to see each other after a long time apart

A hog roast down at the pier the night before. Everything hand made to reflect their love of the sea and travel

A beautiful paper cut picture crafted by sister Vicky, Christine's button hearts and Scott's mum Heather embroidered the ring cushion

Old old books painted with table numbers mingling with the Lunga family silver

Christine printed the yorkshire rose and the Scottish thistle. Hand stitched napkins for every guest.

Some of my old books

Roasted vegetables to compliment the hog roast down by the pier and paper napkins found by Christine - decorated with maps of their South coast home town

So it rained. So what! The little pierside home-made bar decorated for the occasion. And a bunch of umbrellas.

Christine asked me to surprise groom Scott with his favourite ice lollies. So I made some as canapes..

..for Christine to enjoy

..and Scott's mum Heather to enjoy

And phew. There were enough left for Scott..

...who didn't stop smiling from the minute he set eyes...

....on his beautiful bride!

Bouquets from the fabulous Charlotte of Lotte and Bloom

Look! Look! Look! At the detail of Christine's beautiful dress. Hand stitched by her mum.

Some fabulous vintage loveliness from Scott's sister, Kate..

..and sister Vicky, who also made the stunning paper cut picture.

White umbrellas lined up just in case and remember those lace ribbons. Look at them now!

For starters? Huge slate tasting platters - Scottish chorizo, salamis, smoked duck breast from Great Glen Game and langoustines just landed in Oban bay the morning of the wedding

And lovely bride Christine, the morning after, modelling husband Scott's kilt.
This was the most beautiful of weddings. I think you will agree.

Sunshine floods the ballroom...

..love the sense of drama it creates on an expectant top table.

Lovely Lunga wedding

Whilst everywhere else had cloud and rain and wind and other nasty weather stuff, the sun shone on Lunga for the wedding of Laura and Cormac. Laura looked beautiful in a stunning short veil and the flowers - in pale mauve and lilacs and a powdery pink vintage rose - were lovely.

Cakes made by my lovely daughter at The Hidden Lane Tearoom in Glasgow, and decorated by me. Chocolate guinness cake, Cranachan sponge and delicious lemon and apricot cake with philadelphia cream cheese dressing. Appropriate given that the bride is Scottish, the groom is Irish and they live in America!

Love this picture of the top table - the sun hitting the ballroom window created an almost ethereal effect. Beautiful.

A wonderful, lovely, sunny, happy day.

We had a bbq the night before, and the sun set over the marina. The next day, the wedding day, was missly. Not wet. Not dry. Missly.

But at lunchtime the sun came out. Ruth was marrying Malcolm. Dad proudly escorted his daughter down our lovely staircase and through the grounds, under the arch and onto the little island that bridges the pond. Annie Laughlin conducted the ceremony. Tears. Lovely. Great food. Lovely family.

As this lovely wedding took place, in the garden, by the pond, artists were also arriving with works of art for the Craignish Art Festival (Lunga House is one of the lovely venues.) Super aware that Ruth and Malcolm were getting married, the artists climbed a rickety old ladder and snuck into the ballroom to deposit their works. It made Ruth and Malcolm smile!

Open windae. That's handy!

Very very very laid back.

Little weddings are lovely here at Lunga. All you need is a handful of friends and family, good food, sunsets, lovely Lunga people in the background magically making things happen et voila. A lovely little Lunga wedding.

Ruth and her family arrived this afternoon and the sun came out. We barbequed: Barbreck Farm lamb and rosemary sausages, mackerel on a stick, tinfoil wrapped seabass with lemon and butter, roasted red peppers with handfuls of basil. Roasted shallot tarte tatin. And meringues and strawberries and cream, shown off to perfection in a lovely glass bowl that I found in a charity shop earlier today.

A lovely antique glass bowl to show of rose water meringues

Good food. Guinness. Could life be any more perfect

The ceremony tomorrow is a little weather dependent - Ruth would like to get married in front of the pond and so we need the sun to shine. Please. Not that Ruth is overly concerned. She is as relaxed as relaxed can be. And everything is going to be alright.
